The South Florida Spine Clinic uses
an integrated multi-disciplinary team approach to focus on your individual
needs. This approach combines patient education and rehabilitation
with advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques.
Our spine care team consists of Fellowship
Trained Spinal Surgeons, Physiatrists, Consulting Radiologists, Rehabilitation
Specialists, Physical Therapists, Orthotists, Certified Athletic Trainers,
Aquatics and Massage Therapists. Our team of experts has successfully
treated thousands of patients in Florida, setting a new standard of
care for spinal patients. More than half of our patients are referred
to us for specialized care by their own physicians.
Our conservative care approach
At the South Florida Spine Clinic, we use a variety
of different treatment modalities to help our patients. Conservative care consistent
with your diagnosis is always the first choice of treatment. Even though we manage
some of the most complex spinal conditions, we have found that the majority of
our patients recover without surgery.
Comprehensive diagnostic testing
The Spine Clinic offers state of the
art imaging and diagnostic studies which include MRI scans, spiral
CAT scans, tomography, conventional x-rays and electro-diagnostic studies.
Diagnostic testing is used to help pinpoint your problem and guide
your treatment program. Most tests can be scheduled within 24 hours
of the patientÕs initial consulstation. When scheduling diagnostic
tests, consideration is made to accommodate patients with special needs.
Your care and treatment
At the South Florida Spine Clinic, we
help our patients recover from their back problems in a varitey of
ways, each customized to the individual.
On your first visit to the Spine Clinic,
and in-depth interview is conducted by one of the Spine Clinic's physicians
to review your complete spine and medical history . During this initial
consultation, clear and open communication is of the utmost importance.
It provides the foundation for a productive patitne-physician relationship.
Treatment modalities are determined
after a thorough review of your history, your presenting symptoms,
the findings of your physical examination and the results of all diagnostic
testing.
Your treatment program will begin with
the most conservative measures feasible. Most of our patitnes respond
to one or more of the conservative modalities we employ, which include
physical therapy and conditioning, bracing, behavior modification and
theraputic pain blocks. Medications are used as necessary to facilitate
effective rehabilitation.
For a small percentage of patients who
do not respond to the Spine Clinic's conservative care, a wide range
of safe and effective surgical techniques are available. These range
from minimally invasive procedures to complex spinal reconsruction.
The Spine Clinic's medical staff has a reputation for consistently
good results even when dealing with some of the most challenging spinal
conditions.
The role of rehabilitation
One of the most important components
of each patient's treatment is a progressive, well planned and executed
rehabilitation program. The Spine Clinic's Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation
Department is an essential part of each patient's recovery.
Focusing on maximum functional restoration
and your return to a healthy active lifestyle, the rehabilitation program
features a variety of physical therapy techniques and modalities to
assist you in attaining your goal.
The Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation
Department performs pre-operative evaluations on all surgical patients.
This evaluation includes education and training that the patient will
need immediatly after their procedure to facilitate recovery.
Other programs to enhance patient care
are post operative reconditioning, progressive functional restoration
and advanced training for athletics and other high-risk occupations.
This continuum of care is geared to
returning each patient to work or play with the highest degree of independence
possible.
Our goal
Our goal at the South Florida Spine
Clinic is to provide the safest, highest quality of spine care available

of nurses, technicians and support personnel work hand in hand with
